1. Refund decisions
Donations are generally final unless the receiving team or authorized organizer approves a refund, a payment was unauthorized, or applicable law requires a refund.
Rally Roster provides refund tools but does not guarantee that a refund request will be approved.
2. Requesting a refund
Donors should contact the campaign organizer listed on the campaign page and provide the donor name, donation email address, amount, approximate payment date, campaign, and reason for the request.
Rally Roster support may assist with identifying the transaction but may refer campaign-purpose or organizer-decision questions back to the receiving organization.
3. Full and partial refunds
An organizer may issue a full refund or, where appropriate, a partial refund. Total refunds cannot exceed the original donation amount.
Refund availability may be affected by the connected Stripe account’s balance, payment status, dispute status, financial institution, or applicable law.
4. Fees after a refund
Stripe’s original processing fee may not be returned after a successful payment is refunded.
For refunds issued through Rally Roster, the Rally Roster platform fee is returned proportionally for a partial refund and fully for a full refund.
As a result, a fully refunded donation may still leave the receiving organization responsible for Stripe’s original processing fee.
5. Refund timing
After Stripe accepts a refund, the donor’s bank or card issuer controls when the credit appears. Processing time varies by financial institution and payment method.
6. Failed or pending refunds
A refund may remain pending when the connected Stripe account does not have sufficient available balance. Rally Roster records the refund status received from Stripe.
7. Chargebacks and disputes
A card dispute or chargeback is not the same as an organizer-approved refund. Donors should first contact the organizer when possible.
Rally Roster and the receiving organization may provide transaction and campaign records in response to a dispute.
